Following our very successful first year of ‘Cars at the Spa’ we hope to improve and expand for 2020. It will once again be held at the Royal Pump Room Gardens set in the heart of the regency spa town of Royal Leamington Spa, on Sunday 28th June 2020.
Adjacent to the Royal Pump Rooms (CV32 4AA) and beside the shopping area known for its small individual shops in addition to the larger multiples, it offers an interesting day out. The Royal Pump Room Gardens are just across the road from Jephson Gardens, a large park with many floral displays and an interesting indoor tropical plants house. Leamington also has a multitude of cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance.
The Event itself is open to any vehicle with an emphasis on vehicles over 25 years old or of ‘special interest’. We shall be limiting the number of entries to 200 vehicles so booking is essential.
Participants will be asked to arrive between 9.00am and 10.30 am and to remain in place until 4.00pm (except in cases of emergency, or previously arranged leaving time). An entry fee of £10 to the Rotary Charities will be made. A vehicle plaque and programme will be provided.
Please send any photos and information to us about your vehicle with your application as it may be used for local publicity.
There will be a varied programme of entertainment from the newly refurbished bandstand area and, naturally, room for picnics. There are be a number of caterers on site to provide food and drinks and numerous other opportunities for food in the town centre, including a cafe in the Royal Pump Rooms next door. The aim of the day is to give entrants and the public an enjoyable day out whilst collecting for charities supported by Rotary.
The Club has supported 25 charities in the past year, including local, national and international organisations, dispensing some £20,000. Charities helped include:-
Aquabox, Macmillan Cancer Nurses, Water Aid, Mollie Ollie’s Wishes, Help for Heroes, Warwickshire Association of Youth Clubs, Acorn Children’s Hospice, Shelter Box, Hope and Homes for Children, Foodbank, Air Ambulance, Cruse Bereavement, Town Mayor’s Charity Appeal, Sightsavers, Salvation Army, Helping Hands Community Charity, and many others.
Come and enjoy a day out in our beautiful regency town and help us to help others.
